AFK like JFK

Hopefully not that long, but it seems like it will be a while, probably the rest of the year.  Still have four turkeys to butcher, plus an unknown number of ducks, mostly Pekins.  Sadly, my smoker is messed up, so no more jerky unless I use the ghetto plant pot method.  Hopefully there will be time to build an extension to the main chicken coop which will serve as a brood building/McMutant hovel/greenhouse.

Good to hear from you. You eating them or selling them?

I have added rabbits to the Giraffe ranch. If they survive long enough to reproduce, I will eat rabbits.

Rabbits are good, turkeys are good. We're thinking about adding ducks in the spring, partially because they're cool, but mostly because I'm hungry for duck and can't get any around here.

Here, ducky, ducky...

Eating. I'm very unpopular among the duck community these days. There's a very large breed of rabbit that I'd like to try to raise.

I'm kinda tired of duck, to be honest. In the future I will probably just keep Indian Runners. I may try to taste test the different breeds. Supposedly the Runners taste the best. I kinda want to get a hold of the Jumbo Pekins, but a part of me says it's too expensive. You can get Pekins on sale for $1, so why pay so much for a jumbo hog? You can also get Pekins for free from Craigslist.

I do like turkey, but it can be really expensive if you don't let them have enough grazing ground.
